NSW Health probe COVID-19 transmission between travellers inside hotel quarantine

Health authorities are investigating the possible transmission of COVID-19 between travellers within a Sydney hotel quarantine facility, after seven cases of people arriving from different countries were revealed to have the same viral sequence.

NSW Health says it was notified that the returned travellers had the same viral sequence on Friday.

“This suggests there may have been transmission of the infection within hotel quarantine,” it said in a statement on Saturday.
